Terms of Service

These Terms govern participation in AskACurrentParent.com, a service operated by K12 Assist LLC, through which adults can discuss a participating organization's programs by text.

About the service

AskACurrentParent.com is owned and operated by K12 Assist LLC. Adult prospective parents can request conversations with adult current parents who volunteer to share their experiences with a specified organization or program. The participating organization is the subject of the discussion, not the owner or operator of AskACurrentParent.com.

Eligibility and accurate information

Participants must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate registration and contact information. Current parents must have a genuine connection to the organization or program they agree to discuss. Organization administrators must be authorized to access organizational information.

Voluntary participation

Current parents are volunteers and may accept or decline conversation invitations. We cannot promise that a volunteer will be available or that a connection will occur within a particular time. Participants can stop replying or opt out of SMS at any time.

Joining and SMS consent

Requesting to participate in AskACurrentParent.com is separate from agreeing to receive text messages. Each participant must affirmatively agree to SMS messaging using the distinct consent control presented on the applicable registration form. The checkbox is not preselected. Completing registration or agreeing to these Terms alone does not grant SMS consent.

Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. See our SMS Compliance page for additional details.

Conversation handling and organization access

AskACurrentParent.com may receive, record, and relay messages among authorized participants. Authorized personnel for the organization being discussed may review names, contact details, child-age information, messages, transcripts, and other related participant information. An authorized organization representative may participate in some conversations.

Respectful conduct and privacy

Participants must communicate lawfully and respectfully, must not impersonate anyone or harass others, and must not transmit threatening, abusive, or unlawful content. Do not share sensitive personal information about children, finances, health, or other private matters in conversation messages.

Individual experiences, not official advice

Volunteer parents speak from their own experience; they do not necessarily speak for the participating organization or K12 Assist LLC. Neither AACP nor the participating organization guarantees the accuracy, completeness, or representativeness of a parent's opinion. Participants should confirm important facts directly with the organization.

No guarantee of enrollment or outcomes

Participation does not guarantee enrollment, placement, program availability, eligibility, acceptance, pricing, or any particular outcome. Decisions about the organization's programs remain with that organization.

Availability and changes

K12 Assist LLC may modify, suspend, or discontinue features when needed for operational, security, compliance, or legal reasons. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by applicable law, K12 Assist LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy, updates, and contact

Our Privacy Policy describes information handling. We may revise these Terms and publish the current version on this site. Questions may be sent to help@askacurrentparent.com.
